TTC...when can I test successfully? I'm chomping at the bit here. lol? - i am 41 and bleeding in between periods

So my husband and I have been trying to conceive for 9 months. We are both in our 20 years, healthy and stress free. I had a concept of "normal" on 1 September. BTW my cycle is 32 to 41 (kinda sucks) and 12 October, I was bleeding, but was below normal and I do not cramp or something. I did take a pregnancy test if one weeks later and was negative. So I had my period. Thus, ovulation is expected Sunday. I had a lot of cervical mucus was clear and elastic, so I think it was very good and my stomach hurt me that day. Anyway, I can not be 100% sure if I ovulate BC irregularities. I wondered how ovulation for several days I have to wait to conduct a test. My breasts hurt really bad this morning (feeling almost normal now) and when my husband and I had sex for 3 days, it feels like 100 times better, because its mandate is well b4 bc hormones. This will sound weird, but I'm sure I'm pregnant this time (maybe just wishful thinking) Anyway thought I had a Dollar General HPT How long should I wait to get a good result? Thank you:)
